Issues in Nutrition

Nutrition is a key component in all of our lives! Participants will research nutrition topics relevant to their own classroom, student or team athlete population. Topics include (but are not limited to) the 2005 Food Pyramid, eating disorders, ethnic food pyramids, “fad” diets, sports nutrition and vegetarian nutrition. Teachers will research and develop six (6) lesson plans to teach specific issues in nutrition to their own student population. An e-mail location and Internet access and experience necessary. Instructor: Mary Anne McAuley 3 credits (45hrs)
